Ausheim:
When the town was being built, the dwarves stayed mostly
to themselves in this quarter. Since that time, the dwarves and
halflings have become more assimilated, but there is stil a tendency
for the more clannish to congregate in this area. Perhaps as a result,
foreigners of all kinds are drawn to this area. The result is a sort
of collection of ghettos where wealthy Auslanders dwell in comfort
a few blocks away from a slum block. The Watch tends to overlook
this area quite a bit, which has led to the formation of various
neighborhood groups. Kleinwichtstadt where many dwarves live is
generally neat and patrolled by the "Dwarfwatch", and is home to
most of the local engineers. Most of the dwarves invoved with retail
have workshops elsewhere, often nearby in the Hochmarkt.
Some of the human neighborhoods are pretty rough, although with
a "charming ethnic flair," or at least so say the jaded nobles
who go slumming.
